WHAT

IS IT?

A makerspace is a place where students gather to create, invent, tinker, explore and discover using a variety of tools, materials and technologies. Our space designed and dedicated to hands-on creativity. This creativity begins with idea generation and planning and moves to problem-solving with much needed teamwork. In our makerspace, we strive to create some kind of product, whether it be a light-up bug, informational video, or actual computer.

WHO

USES IT?

All students at Westlake Elementary have consistent rotations through the Setton Makerspace Media Room during their computer lab time.  Throughout the school year, students will have the opportunity to build, create, and explore the variety of equipment available to them. Students are also available to go to the Makerspace during one of their scheduled breaks or lunches for free exploration.
